    So as a foreign person myself (sure there are many others) are we allowed to communicate to each other in our spoken languages or do we state what language we are speaking before typing the sentence?

    I don't think there is a particular rule, up to the player really.

    I can't speak for current rules 100%, but in past it was allowed to do both ways mentioned, as long as the emote/post was in english.

    Simfanatic plays a song on his banjo while speaking in Mandarin, " insert language here".

    We have never really said anything regarding speaking in another language one way or the other. Technically its allowed but many times it doesnt happen unless the person they are talking to can speak it too. Like, RPly they can but THEY cant so most times you will see something written in english with a notation saying what language it is.
